In an effort to centralize their freezer and distribution
operations all under one roof, the Golub Corporation chose MLB to construct
a new 150,000 square-foot building that would replace freezer warehouses
in Colonie and Waterford. The new facility handles all the frozen food
distribution for the entire Price Chopper supermarket chain.
With a demanding six month schedule, MLB constructed the
building, installed two massive freezers, a minus ten degree and a
minus 20 degree unit, as well as several leveling loading/unloading
docks, and delivered the building ahead of schedule. The
new facility not only increased efficiency, but its proximity to Price
Chopper’s main warehouse has allowed them to optimize staffing
levels and realize a greater return on their investment. An extra wide
loading dock was also constructed at the site which allows double trailers
to dock. The parking lot and road construction allows easy access to
local highways for efficient distribution.
