Hannaford
> Back to Retail/Commercial
Photos by MLB Construction Services, LLC
When longtime client Hannaford Brothers decided
to introduce its new prototype store to the Mid-Hudson Valley, MLB
was there once again to meet the challenge.
Constructed on a previously occupied site
at the end of a busy mall adjacent to local community college facilities,
this project had plenty of challenges to offer. Site preparation
was complicated by the uncovering of old foundations and demolition
debris, and considerable rock excavation hampered the installation
of underground utilities. Throughout construction, special care had
to be taken to maintain local traffic flow to and from the college
as well as adjacent retail business.
The finished product features a high-bay,
daylighted atrium-style produce area complete with decorative trees,
and all the traditional grocery store sections as well as a food
court, a pharmacy, and a banking facility.
