The original 75,000 sq.ft. CES&TM building houses
a state-of-the-art research facility including laboratories, offices,
conference areas and an incubator industrial business space. The
facility includes the Atmospheric Sciences Research Center, the New
York Center for Advanced Thin Film Technology (CAT) and the National
Weather Service regional forecast office. The majority of research
laboratories utilize wet labs and there are some dry labs. Fume hoods
include both explosion and nonexplosion types. The building systems
include four package type boilers (three functioning and one back-up),
five main HVAC rooftop units, one control chiller system and a heat
recovery unit.
