These 36,000 square foot facilities are wood framed
with prefabricated wood trusses on a slab on grade.
The buildings each feature 64 living units, a main dining
room and commercial kitchen, an Alzheimer’s wing with magnetic
lock systems, commercial laundry, wrap around porches, sunrooms,
trellised arbors and patios, extensive landscaping, exercise room
and beauty salon along with state-of-the-art smoke detection and
sprinkler systems.
Both projects were under tight NC State Division of
Facility Services time restrictions to complete all foundation work
by a specific date. Both projects required massive amounts of
earthwork in unfavorable soil conditions. Despite the site conditions
and agressive deadlines, MLB was able to complete the foundations within
the State mandated deadline which in turn allowed the projects to continue
through to a timely completion.
