When the Berkshire Preparatory School recognized that
the 40 year old Spurr Dormitory had aged, they selected MLB to renovate
and update the facility which was originally designed as the school’s
infirmary. This 11 room somewhat institutional building was constructed
in 1966 and was in need of more functional and appealing space. Like
all dorm renovation projects, a tight schedule and adherence to the
quality standards set out by Berkshire School and their design team
needed to be strictly maintained.
This renovation included mechanical and electrical
systems upgrades, a new alarm system, complete window replacements,
as well as an entirely new interior finish.
MLB completed this fast-tracked project during
the summer break and the students entered their freshly renovated
residence in time for the start of the new school year.
