Surfside on the Lake
Lake George, NY
Marked as being MLB’s first waterfront hotel, Surfside on the Lake has over 26 Lakefront suites overlooking Lake George, and a 2,500 square foot Roof Top Terrace with panoramic views of the Lake. The buildings were designed and constructed to respect the topography of the site, enhance views, expand landscaped areas, and eliminate storm water runoff into Lake George.
Star Lake Camp
Star Lake Camp was a design build proposal for the stabilizing of two Dams. Complete replacing of the administration building and the infirmary building along with providing additional housing at the camp on the second floors of both buildings. MLB replaced 7 existing cabins that were useable only one season to 5 cabins that are year-round facilities which will house 32 people for each event. MLB installed a complete sprinkler protection and fire alarm systems to bring the Camp safety up to standard.
As a previous client, The Desmond called upon MLB to assist with design changes to the existing pool facility in the center of the building’s courtyard. After review, it was determined that the area would be best be suited as a large banquet room with a central fountain in order to host events. Working closely with the owner, MLB was able to transform the space safely and efficiently.
Walt Disney World Resort
The Morocco Pavilion is part of the World Showcase within Epcot at the Walt Disney World Resort and was the first expansion pavilion to be built, opening in 1984. The Pavilion was designed to look like a Moroccan city, with a realistic Minaret and features the restaurant, Marrakesh with distinctive arched columns, beamed ceilings, and massive carved wooden doors. The King of Morocco was so enthused about having his nation represented, that he sent artisans over to create carvings and tile work. Hailed as one of the jewels of the Disney Kingdom, the Morocco Pavilion set the standard for the construction of all future Pavilions within the Walt Disney Company.
